Community Involvement

Festival Of Trees - City of Ionia

ICMH participates in the annual Festival of Trees coordinated by the Parks and Recreation Dept. of the City of Ionia.  Decorated Christmas Trees are on display for a weekend, and visitors vote for their favorite tree.  Proceeds go to the Bob Miller Activity Fund to help children attend camps and clinics held by the Parks & Recreation Dept.

Pictured is ICMH's tree from 2005 with Laurie Tjalsma, Sue Smith and Suzanne Curtis posing for a picture after it was set up.

United Way

Iona County Memorial Hospital employees are active participants in the annual United Way fund drive.  As a Pacesetter, we are working towards an even larger participation of employees this year.

Relay for Life

Ionia County Memorial Hospital is active in many ways though-out the community.  Our staff is a key element in the annual American Cancer Society's Relay for Life.  Jean Day every Friday is one of the successful fundraiser throughout the year. The 2007 American Cancer Society Relay for Life was held on  August 10 & 11 at the Ionia Fairgrounds. ICMH raised over $2,500 for ACS.  This year the Relay for Life is August 22 & 23 at the Ionia Fairgrounds again.  Chairpeople at ICMH are Annette Listerman and Cheryl Cobb.

Women's Festival of Ionia County

For 12 years ICMH has participated and been a part of the steering committee to bring this wonderful event to the women of Ionia County.  Next year it will be held on Thursday, May 1, 2008, and will be 'A Girl's Night Out' at the Royal Heritage Conference Center in Ionia.  A whole new look and format!  For more information you may contact Laurie in Community Relations, ext. 240.

First Aid Stations

ICMH provides staff, supplies, and time to many different events during the year in the way of  first aid stations - from Red Hackers, to community festivals, to bike tours through our town, and our course, the Ionia Free Fair.  Employees, friends, past employees, friends, neighbors, and volunteers come together to keep our community healthy at these events.
