Medical Care and Special Care
The Medical/Surgical Care Unit at Sparrow Ionia Hospital is a 20 bed unit with large, comfortable, private rooms. We specialize in the compassionate care and treatment of patients of all ages, except infants. Our collaborative, multidisciplinary team is dedicated to providing competent, professional 24 hours a day regardless of diagnosis, prognosis, gender, religion, nationality, or ability to pay.
We always strive to provide a safe, therapeutic environment, conducive to healing. We are committed that the standards for professional nursing practice, as defined by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Hospitals, state regulatory codes, and the Nurse Practice Act are implemented, evaluated, and maintained.
There are no set visiting hours, however, for the comfort of our patients we suggest that you do not visit before 9:00 a.m. and stay no later that 8:00 p.m. Children may visit parents and grandparents when accompanied by an adult.
Special Care Unit (CCU/ICU)
The Critical Care Unit at Ionia Hospital is a 2-bed unit with private rooms. The Special Care Unit specializes in the care and treatment of life-threatening illnesses or injuries by providing 24-hour monitoring, assessment and intervention during each patients crisis. Our dedicated, caring and compassionate staff will see to each patient's needs.
Visiting hours are 24 hours a day based on patient’s condition for immediate family and significant others. If a patient has young children they may visit when accompanied by an adult.
